Can they make it any more difficult to sack these councillors? See story here. It seems that once you are appointed a Councillor in the state of Selangor, short of committing political suicide, you can’t be sacked, even if you have broken the laws. Why must these councillors be given a(nother) chance, while everyone else who don’t abide by the same laws will be prosecuted.
“Dr Khir also gave all councillors in the state’s 12 local councils 60 days to settle their dues, be it non-submission of building or renovation plans or unpaid parking compound. ”
Comment: how generous of him to allow them the 60 days! Would everyone else also receive the same grace period?
He added: “We warn councillors who are misusing government facilities for their businesses or stealing electricity or water for their restaurants or factories to stop immediately. “
Comment: They are (already) thieves. Why are they not being prosecuted? Would other electricity or water thieves be cut the same slack?
This whole episode stinks of the foulest stench. What is even more galling is the appalling response of the Menteri Besar. Selangor is a developed state? Dream on…
